Seven Elementary School Students Participate in Lone Star Leadership Academy

Seven students from three Los Fresnos CISD elementary schools took part in the 2016 Lone Star Leadership Academy camps.
Los Fresnos CISD students who attended included: Laureles Elementary, Sinai Almaguer (5th) and Amber Ovalle (4th); Los Fresnos Elementary: Isabella Chavez (4th), Sydney Jo Peña (4th) and Carlos Rodriguez (5th); Olmito Elementary: Joel Rosas (4th) and Kenya Rosas (5th).
The young leaders were selected for the Lone Star Leadership Academy camps based on demonstrated academic success and leadership ability, an educator recommendation, and involvement in school/community activities.
The participating students visited Dallas/Fort Worth (4th, 5th and 6th graders), and Austin/San Antonio (5th, 6th and 7th graders). Houston/Galveston hosted 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
