Self-Assessment

We’re a little more than halfway through 2017. This is a great time to stop and do a quick self-assessment at your progress into the year so far. Looking back over the past few months can you say you’ve been able to keep productively moving forward towards your goals for the year?

Perhaps you’ve lost track along the way and haven’t been able to get back to working towards your goals again? Or maybe you didn’t have any goals set for yourself at the start of the New Year. No matter what the case, every day brings new opportunities and it’s never too late to create new goals for yourself!

Getting Started:
Having a goal to work towards is the first step to getting started. Goals towards improving your health are always a great choice and well worth the effort! If you, like many of us decide you have an area you’d like to improve in your health, start by taking some time to think of how you’d like to see your health improve. Next, create a game plan towards your success.

Example:
What is my goal? Lower my blood pressure.

Why did I choose this goal? Because I don’t want to have to take blood pressure medicine for the rest of my life and I’d like to have more energy.

When am I going to get started? Today!

Where do I see myself in 2 years? Not needing to take medicine to control my blood pressure. Healthier, more active and much happier. Working towards a new goal for myself!

What am I willing to do to meet my goal? Walk 30 minutes a day five days a week and eat more fruits and vegetables. Increase my efforts in both being more physically active and eating more nutritiously.
