Los Fresnos High School senior Marvely Neme has been featured in the November edition of Albricias, the student magazine of the Sociedad Honorario Hispanica.<\/p>\n

The SHH is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and\/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The society recognizes high achievement of high school students in both languages and promotes interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.<\/p>\n

The magazine features art, poetry and literature from students from around the country. The November issue highlighted work done by 43 students.<\/p>\n

Neme’s artwork was entitled “La chipaneca de Agua Azul” featured a folkloric dancer on rocks in a river with a waterfall in the background.\u00a0Her artwork reflects her love for the folklorico dancing and the natural landscapes of Mexico.<\/p>\n

She received a monetary award for her second place national finish.<\/p>\n

Neve, president of the Spanish Honor Society at Los Fresnos High School and LFU, represented Capitulo Voces Hispanas de Los Fresnos. Mariana Salda\u00f1a, Spanish teacher at LFU, is SHH sponsor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
