Photo: Tony Vindell\/LFN<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>by Tony Vindell\/LFN<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A true jewel, awesome, fantastic and beautiful were some of the many words people used to describe the Dec. 14 celebration held to officially unveil the completion and opening of Los Fresnos new city hall.<\/p>\n<p>The facility is the Rio Grande Valley\u2019s newest municipal building constructed to house the city\u2019s administrative staff and it will also become the home for the local police department later on.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr. and David Garza, commissioner with Cameron County Precinct 3, were among some of the elected officials who were at the celebration and who expressed admiration for such a monumental project the city has undertaken.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a beautiful facility,\u201d Lucio said. \u201cI have been watching its construction and I am very happy to join this celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said Los Fresnos is a great community because of the people\u2019s determination to make sure their children and grandchildren have a great community to live in.<\/p>\n<p>A \u201ctrue jewel,\u201d is how Garza described the new city hall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis city knows how to execute a vision,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is a great facility for a great community.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11183\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11183\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11183\" src=\"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/city-hall-shriners-017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/city-hall-shriners-017.jpg 600w, https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/city-hall-shriners-017-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/city-hall-shriners-017-405x270.jpg 405w, https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/city-hall-shriners-017-60x40.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-11183\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Los Fresnos school district had several groups of volunteers during the event.
