{"id":11384,"date":"2020-02-21T21:04:22","date_gmt":"2020-02-21T21:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/?p=11384"},"modified":"2020-02-21T21:04:23","modified_gmt":"2020-02-21T21:04:23","slug":"rancho-viejo-rocks-to-the-beatles-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/?p=11384","title":{"rendered":"Rancho Viejo rocks to the Beatles\u2019 music"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"342\" src=\"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Los-Fresnos-The-Beatles.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Los-Fresnos-The-Beatles.jpg 600w, https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Los-Fresnos-The-Beatles-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/losfresnosnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Los-Fresnos-The-Beatles-405x231.jpg 405w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption><em><strong>The Liverpool Legends playing at the Rancho Viejo Resort &amp; Country Club.<\/strong><\/em> Photo: Tony Vindell \/ LFN<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By TONY VINDELL \/ LFN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The usually quiet town of Rancho Viejo was twisting and shouting for one night earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its resort and country club, known for having one of the Rio Grande Valley\u2019s best golf courses, became a place where people of all ages danced and sang the night away as a group called the Liverpool Legends paid a tribute to legendary rock \u2018n \u2018 roll band The Beatles during a concert dinner\/buffet held Feb. 7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The quartet entertained a crowd of around 300 people for about two hours, playing some of the quartet\u2019s best-known tunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They included \u201cYellow Submarine, &#8220;Let It Be,\u201d \u201cI Wanna Hold Your Hand,\u201d \u201cShe Loves You,\u201d \u201cCan\u2019t Buy Me Love,\u201d \u201cJust Seventeen,\u201d \u201cHelp,\u201d \u201cDay Tripper,\u201d \u201cSaw Her Standing,\u201d and \u201cA Hard Day\u2019s Night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many in the audience, including a number of teenagers, sang along to most of the tunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when the Fab Four played Twist and Shout, many people stood up and began shaking and twisting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lively atmosphere continued as the show went on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among those in attendance were Michael and Teresa Musgrove of Harlingen, and Jose and Carmen Hernandez of Harlingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two couples said they grew up listening to The Beatles music and were glad to be at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI saw the group last year,\u201d Michael Musgrove said. \u201cThey are great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hernandezes said they wished more shows like the one they saw would be held in this part of the Rio Grande Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tony McDermot, the resort and country club general manager, said the club is indeed planning on hosting more events like the Liverpool Legends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, the club has hosted Elton John, Cher and Juan Gabriel impersonators, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rancho Viejo is located within minutes from Los Fresnos and less than 30 minutes from Harlingen and Brownsville.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By TONY VINDELL \/ LFN The usually quiet town of Rancho Viejo was twisting and shouting for one night earlier this month.
