My main positions are shortstop and centerfield.

What do you like most about softball?
I love everything about the sport. I love how it’s an unpredictable game; you never know what will happen next. I love the adrenaline rush you get when points are rallying up.

What’s the best game you’ve ever played?
I would say the tournament we played up in Smithson Valley against Eagle Pass. The score was 4-1 first inning, rough start, then they scored five the next inning and the score was 9-1 all the way up to the fourth and final inning. That’s when there were two outs in the last inning and I was up to bat. I hit a home run up the middle and got a rally going after that to beat Eagle Pass 10-9! It took us four years to finally get them, when we usually lose by one. It is my last year so I’m happy to confirm we beat them!

Talk a little about your high school softball career.
My softball career has been very fun. I’ve played every game with my whole heart and loved every bit of it. My best year I have had would be Junior year. I hit 17 homers and was named the Brownsville Herald’s Offensive Player of the Year, the District 32-6A Co-MVP and was named all-state!

Do you compete in other sports besides softball?
No I do not. I put my full attention on softball. I work out and run on the side, but I like to keep grinding for the support.

If you could only play one sport which would it be?
Definitely softball!

How was your season going before this unexpected break occurred?
My season was going pretty well. I had nine homers and was about to start district. I was ready for this year and hungry to get further than I did last year. But, unfortunately, the world may never know what the outcome would have been.

What’s your favorite food?
WINGS!!!!

What’s your favorite animal?
Turtles. They’re so cute

Have you signed with any universities or any university looking at you?
Yes, I have signed to play at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. I had many college offers, but I loved St. Mary’s the best. I have always wanted to live in San Antonio and this is a good stepping stone for me to experience the area.

What do you want to major in?
Exercise and sports science

What would you like to do in the future?
That is uncertain as of now. I would like to coach, or train or even be a dietician. I’ll let ya know later.

Talk a little bit about what it’s been like having to endure this break.
Well, I have to say, it’s hard to take in that this is even happening. It seems so unreal, like something that happens in a movie. But I’ve been making the best out of it by spending the most time with my family and enjoying every moment before I take off (to college).

What are you doing to stay busy?
Working out, running, painting, longboarding, swimming, spending time with family, watching movies and TV shows, cleaning the entire house, playing with my dogs… The list goes on and on. I haven’t gotten bored yet!
Do you think the season will be allowed to eventually proceed?
I sure hope so, that would be great, but this is all in God’s hands.

IF the entire season is forced to be cancelled, how would that make you feel?
My dad always says to play every game like it’s my last, and I take that saying very seriously. I play for those who can’t and for those who look up to me, and I would be very content with my last game. I had fun and made memories.

What has been the most challenging part of dealing with the break away from normalcy for you?
Being home this much for sure. I like it though. And another is not being around my friends and the field.

Have you learned anything from having to deal with this unprecedented experience?
Make the best out of any situation

School: Los FresnosSport: Softball When did you start playing softball?I started playing softball when I was 4 years old.
