That includes two backstop fences behind home plate. These fences are installed to protect the fans against errant pitches and foul balls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe Garcia, whose family owns the fence company, said they began working on the fence about two weeks ago and were expected to finish the job by the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fence improvement project is part of a plan the city council approved to upgrade the baseball field and everything should be completed by this summer. It includes a new irrigation system, controller, soil, trees, compost and new lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A company from Edinburg, 1007 Nursery &amp; Garden, and others donated thousands of dollars in materials to make the field as good as it gets once everything is said and done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a meeting of Los Fresnos City Council, the administrative body got an update on the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEverything is on target,\u201d City Manager Mark Milum said. \u201cThe new grass and sprinkler systems are in, and the park\u2019s new bleachers are to arrive soon.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By TONY VINDELLLFN LOS FRESNOS &#8211; Things are looking better and better for the Los Fresnos Little League Baseball field.
