Photo LFCISD<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Villareal Elementary held special Arbor Week Tree-Planting ceremony Friday morning in honor of Gabriel Vela, who was a very active parent and supporter of the school.<\/p>\n<p>Vela was killed in a traffic accident in November 2012. He and two of his brothers had done numerous volunteer projects at the school for several years. The three were working on a playground at the time of his death. A plaque in Gabriel\u2019s honor was also unveiled and will be placed next to the tree.<\/p>\n<p>Students at Villareal Elementary attended, and were invited to add a handful of dirt to the hole where the tree was planted.
