Narvaez wants to continue serving the City of Los Fresnos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The duo said fixing the city\u2019s drainage system and bringing more businesses to town are at the top of their priorities as elected representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flores, a 41 year old financial advisor, said he is going to do all he can to entice a Whataburger to open a restaurant here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are also a lot of things that need to be done,\u201d he said. \u201cWe need more sidewalks, better landscaping and we also need new leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cappon, a 63 year old retiree who worked for the Texas Department of Human Health Service, said he is pro-business and would like the city to keep its tax and public utility rates down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the city annexed an area to the west several years ago but has not provided the services other areas of town have today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cappon and Flores sit on the city\u2019s planning and zoning commission.<br>Narvaez, a 73 year old state employee, said he filed to run for the Place 1 seat because he wants to continue serving the city in the same way he has done during his three terms as mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to continue my involvement with the city,\u201d he said, \u201cso I can finish some projects that started under my tenure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among them, he mentioned the Hike &amp; Bike Trail and finishing some drainage projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By TONY VINDELLLFN Area voters have until Friday Oct. 30 to cast their early ballots for the Nov. 3 general election.
