City Manager, Mark Milum shares they recorded 74-mile-an-hour winds before the power went out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>He continued by saying, \u201cThe winds were probably around 80-miles-an-hour.\u201d<br>Though there seemed to be talk of a tornado, only a formation of a twister began. Thankfully, no one was injured during the strong gusts. He says the wind gusts were very strong lifting the whole rooftop landing in the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>First responders including Los Fresnos Fire Department, Public Works, and the PD helped close off a section of Highway 100, while they moved the debris out of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The current status of Saint Cecilia Church in Los Fresnos; as of Tuesday, April 25, they were still waiting on the Insurance to assess the damage. Creative Communications Specialist with the Diocese of Brownsville says they have to just leave everything where it is until the Insurance can assess the damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em><strong>Words from Mayor Alejandro Flores:<br><\/strong><\/em>&#8220;I am relieved to hear that the storm that recently blew into Los Fresnos, Texas did not cause any harm to the residents. Even though the storm may have caused some damage to the properties, the most important thing is that everyone is safe and sound. We should be grateful to the first responders and emergency services who worked tirelessly to keep the community safe during this turbulent weather.
