Santa Secret Society rewarded Laureles Elementary in Los Fresnos with a grant to purchase Christmas gifts for some of the underprivileged students at the elementary school. The charity board members along with teachers and community volunteers had the chance to go shopping for gifts at Target back in November and mentioned that it was such a rewarding experience. Secret Santa Society is a non-profit organization that started 5 years ago in an effort to support local charities and families in South Texas. Schools have a chance to submit an application and if chosen children are encouraged to write Dear Santa Letters and with the help of teachers several less fortunate children are chosen to receive gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn December of 2011, an anonymous donor approached an educator and asked if any students in her elementary school would possibly not receive a Christmas gift during the Holiday Season. That year the donor fulfilled the wish list of 12 students from Seguin Elementary in McAllen ISD. It became a annual tradition to provide Christmas gifts to the less fortunate children.\u201d Since their start back in 2015 several schools across Cameron and Hidalgo Counties have been served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Santa Secret Society recompens\u00f3 a Laureles Elementary en Los Fresnos con una subvenci\u00f3n para comprar regalos de Navidad para algunos de los estudiantes desfavorecidos de la escuela primaria. Los miembros de la junta ben\u00e9fica, junto con maestros y voluntarios de la comunidad, tuvieron la oportunidad de ir a comprar regalos a Target en noviembre y mencionaron que fue una experiencia muy gratificante. Secret Santa Society es una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro que comenz\u00f3 hace 5 a\u00f1os en un esfuerzo por apoyar a organizaciones ben\u00e9ficas locales y familias en el sur de Texas. Las escuelas tienen la oportunidad de presentar una solicitud y, si son elegidos, se anima a los ni\u00f1os a escribir Cartas de Querido Pap\u00e1 Noel y, con la ayuda de los profesores, se elige a varios ni\u00f1os menos afortunados para recibir regalos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde su inicio en 2015, se han prestado servicios a varias escuelas de los condados de Cameron e Hidalgo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
