\nThe 2013-14 Academic Calendar features 177 instructional days \u2013 81 in the first semester and 98 in the second semester. The four marking periods end Oct. 18, Dec. 20, March 7 and June 3.<\/p>\n
Earlier this summer, the 83rd Texas Legislature passed House Bill 5 (HB 5), which drastically changed high school graduation and state assessment requirements. Under HB 5, students will only need to pass five State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course exams (EOCs), as opposed to the original 15 assessments.<\/p>\n
The five assessments under HB 5 include Algebra I, English I (combined reading\/writing), English II (combined reading\/writing), Biology, and U.S. History.<\/p>\n
Los Fresnos CISD students will take Algebra, Biology and English I EOC during their freshman year, the English II exam in their sophomore year, and the U.S. History exam in their junior year.<\/p>\n
Los Fresnos CISD follows the 2013-14 Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements, which vary depending on age and grade level. The list includes:<\/p>\n
