The Los Fresnos High School Marching Band advanced to the finals of the Area Marching Contest in San Antonio Saturday, but did not qualify to state as one of the top eight bands.<\/p>\n

LFHS received a rating of 1 at the 72nd Annual UIL Pigskin Jubilee Marching Competition Oct. 18 in San Benito to qualify for area.
\nAfter an opening-round performance at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Falcon Band received one of 20 top ratings to qualify for the finals Saturday night.
\nAt the Saturday night finals, only eight would be chosen to advance to qualify for the State Marching Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio Nov. 3-4.<\/p>\n

LFHS placed 14th out of the 40 bands that competed.<\/p>\n

The LFHS Band\u2019s performance for the season is entitled \u201cConflicted,\u201d which was written and arranged by Carol Brittin Chambers. It is inspired by Gandalf\u2019s \u201cIn the Presence of Angels,\u201d Alexander Borodin\u2019s \u201cPolovetsian Dances,\u201d Bliss\u2019 \u201cA Hundred Thousand Angels,\u201d Frank Ticheli\u2019s \u201cAngels in the Architecture,\u201d and Carol Brittin Chambers\u2019 \u201cConflicted.\u201d<\/p>\n
