HARLINGEN<\/strong> \u2014 Hundreds of guests are expected to attend the City of Harlingen\u2019s 12th Annual Winter Texan Appreciation Fiesta at Casa de Amistad on Monday, January 18, 2016.<\/p>\n

The fiesta includes a business expo that will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside Casa de Amistad located at 1204 Fair Park Blvd.<\/p>\n

There is no admission fee for the event that will feature live entertainment, a classic car show sponsored by F&T Valley Motorsports, a quilt show by Frontier Quilt Guild, food and business vendors and an art expo sponsored by the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District. Free T-shirts will be given out to the first 2,000 Winter Texans that attend the event.<\/p>\n

Outdoor entertainment will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include live performances by Lauren Corzine & Knox Jones and the CoZmic CowboYz Southern Rock Band. Harlingen\u2019s Winter Texan Flea Market will also be stationed outside from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

Live music will continue in the lobby by Mariachi Sol Azteca from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a performance by the Harlingen Community Band from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Sweet Blessings Food Truck and PMQ Food That Rocks will be on site selling food with special rates for the Winter Texan community. Winter Texan guests may also partake in a free train ride sponsored by Coastal Event Rentals, LLC.<\/p>\n

Local children\u2019s dance and music groups scheduled to perform include the Folkloric Group of Dance Community Center by Nora Estrada, followed by Ronnie\u2019s School of Music, Long Elementary Folklorico Dance Groups and the San Benito High School Flamenco Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Jorge Mascorro.<\/p>\n

The 12th Annual Winter Texan Appreciation Fiesta is sponsored by Valley Baptist Health System; Harlingen Medical Center; Pe\u00f1a Eye Institute; the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce; HerbaLife Independent Distributor, Esperanza Fajardo; Santo\u2019s Homemade Goods; The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care; Value Place; Courtyard Marriott; Nolan E. Perez, MD, FACP, FACG, of the Gastroenterology Consultants of South Texas; the City of Harlingen (Harlingen Parks & Recreation Department; Harlingen Police Department; Harlingen Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Harlingen Public Library) and Footworks.<\/p>\n
