The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts\u2019 financial resources, a goal made more significant because of the complexity of accounting associated with Texas\u2019 school finance system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cWe are very pleased with our FIRST rating again,\u201d said Los Fresnos Superintendent Mr. Gonzalo Salazar. \u201cThis continues to show that our taxpayers that the school district is spending its tax money wisely. This rating shows that our schools are accountable not only for student learning, but also for achieving these results in a cost-effective and efficient manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Los Fresnos CISD has achieved the highest possible rating in each of the 15 years the accountability system has been in place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Texas Education Agency assigned one of four financial accountability ratings to Texas school districts, with the highest being \u201cA\u201d for \u201cSuperior Achievement,\u201d followed by \u201cB\u201d for \u201cAbove-Standard Achievement,\u201d \u201cC\u201d for \u201cStandard Achievement\u201d and \u201cF\u201d for \u201cSubstandard Achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Ronnie Zamora\/LFCISD Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District has received a rating of \u201cA\u201d for \u201cSuperior Achievement\u201d under Texas\u2019 Schools FIRST financial accountability rating system for the 15th straight year.
