Construction of new Emergency Services Complex begins to take shape as the framework of the 33,000 square foot facility begins to go up.<\/p><\/div>\n

Construction of a new home for the Los Fresnos Volunteer Fire Department and EMS is underway.\u00a0 Site work for the 33,000 square foot facility began in October of 2017 but in recent weeks evidence of the construction is taking shape.\u00a0 The new facility is located East of the rodeo grounds off of State Highway 100.<\/p>\n

The Los Fresnos Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1948 and has proudly been providing fire prevention, fire suppression, and rescue to over 150 square miles of Cameron County.<\/p>\n

LFVFD & EMS is currently housed at their main location at 200 N. Alamo Street.\u00a0 A second location dubbed the “Meyn Station” is located at 104 S. San Roman Road in Bayview.<\/p>\n

Chief Daniels expects the project to be completed sometime in the spring or early summer of 2018.\u00a0 The project will include 10,000 sq. ft. of living space, 14,500 sq. ft. of vehicle bay area for trucks and 6,300 sq. ft. of vehicle bay area for EMS.<\/p>\n

LFVFD & EMS have a long and respected heritage in the community that was built on pride in their selfless work and on their service to others and now there will be a new home built to continue that tradition.<\/p>\n
