Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District has received a rating of \u201cA\u201d for \u201cSuperior Achievement\u201d under Texas\u2019 Schools FIRST financial accountability rating system for the 16th straight year.<\/p>\n

The \u201cA\u201d rating is the state\u2019s highest, demonstrating the quality of Los Fresnos CISD\u2019s financial management and reporting system.<\/p>\n

This is the 16th year of Schools FIRST (Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas), a financial accountability system for Texas school districts developed by the Texas Education Agency in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999. The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts\u2019 financial resources, a goal made more significant because of the complexity of accounting associated with Texas\u2019 school finance system.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis continues to show that our taxpayers that the school district is spending its tax money wisely,\u201d Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis rating shows that our schools are accountable for student learning and for achieving these results in a cost-effective manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Los Fresnos CISD has achieved the highest possible rating in each of the 16 years the accountability system has been in place.<\/p>\n

The Texas Education Agency assigned one of four financial accountability ratings to Texas school districts, with the highest being \u201cA\u201d for<\/p>\n

\u201cSuperior Achievement,\u201d followed by \u201cB\u201d for \u201cAbove-Standard Achievement,\u201d \u201cC\u201d for \u201cStandard Achievement\u201d and \u201cF\u201d for \u201cSubstandard Achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
