Photo: Tony Vindell\/LFN<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>by Tony Vindell\/LFN<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Rehabilitating a sewer lift station is a dirty job, but it\u2019s something that needs to be done in order to keep providing such services to residents of any town or municipality.<\/p>\n<p>That is what a crew with RM Walsdorf Inc. of Brownsville began doing last week in Los Fresnos.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Salazar, the city\u2019s public works director, said the rehabilitation project involves replacing pipes, pumps and other pieces of equipment to two sewer lift stations.<\/p>\n<p>The first lift station is along FM 1847 where a crew was spotted working last week.<\/p>\n<p>Company employees were working in and around the station\u2019s 13 foot hole that looks like an inverted tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>Salazar said after the crew completes their task, they will then move to a second lift station near Los Fresnos High School.<\/p>\n<p>The project is set to cost more than $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese stations require some maintenance,\u201d he said, \u201cand this rehabilitation project is part of that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Tony Vindell\/LFN Rehabilitating a sewer lift station is a dirty job, but it\u2019s something that needs to be done in order to keep providing such services to residents of any town or municipality.
