Los Fresnos United Dedication of New Facilities April 2nd
- Updated: April 1, 2016
The public is invited to the dedication of new facilities at Los Fresnos United campus at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2.
The campus, located at 33790 FM 803 just south of Texas Highway 100, opened in 2009 for ninth grade students in Los Fresnos CISD.
United has undergone major additions since 2013. A new band hall, athletics weight room and locker rooms opened in 2014. A multi-purpose gymnasium that doubles as a safe room for weather emergencies opened in 2015. Most recently, a new two-story classroom building has been completed.
The construction at the rear of the school on the west side of campus has transformed the campus that one day will be the district’s second high school.
Starting this fall, LFU will add tenth-grade students to its campus, while Los Fresnos High School will house 11th- and 12th-grade students.
The April 2 ceremony will include LFU teachers students as hosts in the new Career and Technology facilities, including engineering, health sciences and robotics. Students will be demonstrating new equipment to visitors.
Fine Arts students and teachers will show visitors the facilities for choir, folklorico, mariachi and band. Coaches and students in the athletic programs will show the weight room, locker rooms and gymnasium.
