A Los Fresnos Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services team participated in an extrication training course to prepare them for situations where lives are at stake.
The training took place Monday, May 6.
Twenty eight volunteer firefighters and six Emergency Medical Technician students attended at the three-hour course.
A variety of tools were used to extract people from vehicles.
Jaws of life cutters, cribbing, stabilizers and other tools used during certain accidents were used during the training.
FD and EMT personnel train twice a month as part of an ongoing program to be better prepared for such situations.
