While Basketball season is continuing through the district, another season has started. The 2024-25 Texas High School Soccer Season has begun. In Los Fresnos, both clubs are off to solid starts.

We start with the Lady Falcons, who have always had a good run in 2023-24. The Lady Falcons finished 13-9 overall and in second in 32-6A with a 7-3 record. The Lady Falcons also had themselves an area-round appearance. Heading into the new season, unfinished business seems to be the motto as the Lady Falcons look to go on a deeper run into the playoffs.

To open the regular season, the Lady Falcons picked up two wins over Edinburg Economedes (3-0) and La Joya (5-0). The Lady Falcons then picked up two more wins against IDEA Riverview (3-0), and Edinburg Vela (3-0).

The Lady Falcons then competed in a tournament up north in Georgetown. Non-district tournaments up north allow teams to get a taste of the talent they can possibly face when making a deep playoff run. The Lady Falcons went on a three-game skid against Cedar Park, Liberty Hill, and Midland.

Returning to normal action, Los Fresnos then picked up a win against Edinburg North 4-0 to put them at a 5-4 record on the season.
Switching gears, the Boys have had themselves a good start to 2024-25. To begin the season, Los Fresnos went 2-3. The Falcons picked up wins against Palmview and Laredo LBJ, but lost to Edinburg North, Edinburg Economedes, and San Antonio Southwest.

The tide quickly turned however as Los Fresnos has gone on a dominant run.
A seven-game winning streak has been what the Falcons have been on since January 11.
A long list of opponents, here are some of the big teams they defeated: San Antonio Davenport, Laredo LBJ, Laredo Alexander, SA Cornerstone Christian, Harlingen, Laredo United, and La Joya.

The Falcon’s win streak came to an end as they clashed with former district rival Weslaco. In what was a shootout, Weslaco sent a message early on. The Panthers scored three goals in the first half, only allowing Los Fresnos to score one goal. However, in the second half, things got chippy as Los Fresnos was able to dig deep and pull off a comeback to score two goals to draw 3-3.

At 10-3-1 overall and 5-4 overall, both programs are still young into non-district play. Both teams will continue to compete in tournaments until 32-6A Begins in late February.
