Falcons Complete First Half of 32-6A

As we wind into the month of February, The first half of District 32-6A has officially come to a close. For the Los Fresnos Falcons boys basketball team, It was a very successful first half. The Falcons went on a solid run to start the first half and currently sit atop of the 32-6A standings.
So how did Los Fresnos get to the top?
Let’s take a look at the first half of the 2024-25 District 32-6A schedule.
To open up 32-6A, the Falcons took on district newcomer Brownsville Veterans Memorial, In what was a true test, the Chargers and Falcons went back and forth fighting for the lead. The Falcons would slip away and capture the win 67-59.
In game two, the Falcons were matched up against District Rival Harlingen. Both teams have put up big games against each other over the past few years. This time was no different. The Cards and Falcons put up a combined 34 points in the first quarter. What followed was another shootout that ended with the Falcons on top 76-70.
In district game number three, Los Fresnos clashed with San Benito. Pure dominance was all it took for the Falcons as they would cruise to a 91-41 victory.
In the final game of the first half, the Falcons were slated up against another rival in Brownsville Hanna. The first half saw the Falcons fall behind to the Golden Eagles 38-27. The Falcons would sharpen up in the second half with an explosive third quarter. Scoring 22 points in the third allowed the Falcons to take the lead and hold it to win 67-57.
Finishing the first half 4-0, the Falcons knew going into the smaller district meant every game was a must-win. In the five team district, four teams will make it to the playoffs.
So what to expect for the second half? The Falcons will open round two against Brownsville Veterans while Harlingen will be second. The Falcons will then take on San Benito, and to wrap up the Regular season, Los Fresnos will take on Brownsville Hanna.
The Falcons will look to continue their dominance on their quest to bring another District Title in 2024-25.
