LFHS Top 10 Percent, Honor Roll Seniors Recognized

by Ronnie Zamora/LFCISD

More than 200 Los Fresnos High School seniors who rank at the top of the class were recognized at the annual Student Academic Achievement Banquet Wednesday at the Brownsville Events Center.

Usually, both the LFHS seniors and juniors are recognized at the banquet, but the size of the Class of 2019 forced administrators to have separate ceremonies for seniors and juniors. The LFHS Juniors will be honored in a ceremony Tuesday, May 14, at the Los Fresnos United Dome.

LFHS principal Justin Stumbaugh and Los Fresnos CISD Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar greeted each student who ranked in the top 10 percent, or qualified for the “A” Honor Roll or “A-B” Honor Roll. Each received a medal for academic achievement.

More than 900 LFHS seniors will graduate in Commencement May 25 at Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.

Stumbaugh and the other four administrators at LFHS presented their Apple awards to students who made impacts on administrators during their years at the school. Presenters and their recipients were:

  • Stumbaugh: Brian Sopha
  • Dean of Instruction Jeaneva Scoville: Jacob Javier Garcia
  • Assistant Principal Norma Aguilera: Graciela Elizabeth Moctezuma
  • Assistant Principal Jaime Gonzales: Paola Carrizales Garcia
  • Assistant Principal Victor Monreal: Carlos “Charlie Brown” Teran Flores.
