The Los Fresnos 2020 Halloween Festival will be held as usual so get ready to trick-or-treat this Oct. 31.
The annual event, which generally takes place at the city’s Memorial Park off North Arroyo Boulevard, has been relocated to Los Fresnos Rodeo grounds because of the pandemic.
Instead of the droves of children and parents roaming for treats as well as the dozens of participants handing out candies and the haunted house set up in years’ past, this time it will be a drive-thru trick-or-treat event.
Parents, children and anyone else, for that matter, will form a line of vehicles and are to remain inside as the participants will distribute the goodies from tents set 12 feet apart from each other.
The festival is a joint effort put up by the City of Los Fresnos, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Corp. and the Rodeo Committee.
Jackeline Moya, the city’s secretary, said any organization, business and church is welcome to participate in the festival that will be held from 6 -8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.
Participants and the public are to follow all the department of health recommendations pertaining to the pandemic such as wearing face masks, sanitizing gel usage and social distancing.
For more information about participating or making a donation, please call the city at (956)233- 5768 or the chamber of commerce at (956)233-4488.
