Lady Falcons Ranked 14th in Texas

The Los Fresnos High School Girls Varsity basketball team is ranked 14th in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association poll. That is the highest current ranking of any 6A girls team in the RGV.
So far the Lady Falcons have posted an 11-2 record and have out-scored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points per game. The only losses came in games with St Josephs Academy (Score 34-40) and Rio Grande City (44-45).
In non-district play, this squad was able to close out close games with traditional RGV powerhouse teams in McAllen Memorial and McAllen Rowe. So even in this young, Covid strained season these girls are already battle tested.
In district play Los Fresnos is 2-0 with wins against San Benito and Rivera already.
Covid protocols are still being felt all over and the basketball court is no different. The January 5th matchup between the Lady Falcons and Lady Harlingen Cardinals had to be postponed.
