City and Church Sign Agreement to Improve Parking at Community Park
- Updated: May 27, 2013
The Los Fresnos City Commissioners approved an agreement between the city and St. Cecilia Catholic Church that will help to alleviate parking issues that have arisen at the very popular Community Park that attracts hundreds daily to play, walk and skate.
The church has agreed to allow park users to park on the church property located directly next to the skate park.
The agreement, according to City Manager Mark W. Milum, will allow Cameron County to build the parking lot for the Community Park. Naismith Engineering’s estimate for this work is $64,396. With the county doing the construction, the city could save money on the much needed project.
