Earth Day Celebration

Earth Day is April 22 and this year’s theme is “Invest in Our Planet.” Earth Day
began in 1970 and is still going strong today.


The Los Fresnos Earth Day Committee has organized its 2nd Annual Earth Day
Celebration on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be held at
the Los Fresnos Nature Park located at 851 North Arroyo Blvd. in Los Fresnos,
Texas. Many wonderful organizations have joined us in making this an educational
and fun event.

Enjoying nature on Earth Day is also a must, so bring your family to join in the
children’s activities to learn and have fun. Activities such as face painting, bubble
station, bounce house, arts & crafts, fish casting lessons hosted by Fishing Futures
and the following scheduled activities:
Two new additions to our celebration this year are an Earth Day Art Contest hosted
by the Ethel Whipple Public Library and local vendors selling their products.
The Ethel Whipple Public Library is hosting an Earth Day Art Contest (Deadline
April 14, 2023) with four divisions: K-2nd; 3rd-5th; 6th-8th, and 9th-12th.


Please go by the public library, located at 402 West Ocean Blvd. in Los Fresnos, to speak with the Librarians Angie Lugo and Iris Garcia about this wonderful opportunity. Prizes will
be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each division. Winners will be announced at
the Earth Day celebration. All entries will be displayed at the public library April
15th – 21st and at the park during the event for all to see.


Vendors such as Rx Gaia Remedies, Juices By Trisha, Southern Feathers, Vicencio
Family Gardens, Country Sweets 956, Trinidad Creations, The Wolf & Raven Co.,
Master Hairwrap and others will join us this year.
