Los Fresnos Independence Day Celebration to Take Place July 3rd

Prepare to immerse yourself in an evening of patriotism and celebration at the annual Independence Day event, a true testament to our community spirit. This event is hosted by the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the City of Los Fresnos and Los Fresnos CDC. Mark your calendars for July 3rd, 2024, when the festivities will kick off at 6 PM at the picturesque Los Fresnos Memorial Park, nestled at 900 N. Arroyo Blvd. The evening will commence with an uplifting invocation, the solemn Posting of the Colors by Scout Troop 61, a heartwarming rendition of the National Anthem, and an inspiring speech by a distinguished guest. Join us in honoring the spirit of Independence Day and celebrating our strong community ties!
Get ready for a day brimming with excitement at this thrilling event. Anticipate the joy of train rides, the thrill of multiple inflatable bouncy houses, the rush of thrilling slides, and the challenge of an exhilarating obstacle course. For the little ones, there’s a watermelon eating contest with prizes for three different age groups – each winner will walk away with a $50 gift card. Kids can also participate in the entertaining 3-legged sack race and the thrilling tortilla toss, both offering the chance to win a coveted trophy. Additionally, there will be a patriotic costume contest open to all.
Grown-ups, you won’t be left out of the fun! Test your taste buds in the jalapeño eating contest or join in the hot dog eating contest for some competitive fun. For those feeling light-footed, there will also be a waiters race with a rewarding prize of a $100 gift card.
If you find yourself feeling hungry from all the excitement, don’t worry! There will be a variety of food vendors to satisfy your cravings, and generous helpings of free watermelon slices, courtesy of Los Fresnos Walmart. Take some time to explore and support our local small businesses at the Arts and Crafts Vendors section, a testament to our community’s entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
As the evening comes to a close, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking fireworks display set to illuminate the night sky at 9:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss this dazzling spectacle!
