Reward for Missing Sewage Pumps at Gladys Porter Zoo

1359120187_1371845683BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS-SEPTEMBER 4, 2013- The Gladys Porter Zoo is in search of three Goulds submersible sewage pumps that were stolen from the Zoo’s storage warehouse. Each pump weighs about 250 pounds and is painted a bright blue color. These pumps were last accounted for three weeks ago when first delivered to the Zoo.

The pumps were purchased to help move the Zoo’s waste water to the city’s sewage system.

“As a non-profit organization, we work very hard to raise the funds to keep the Zoo maintained,” said Jerry Stones, Facilities Director at the Gladys Porter Zoo. “When someone steals Zoo property, the Zoo suffers elsewhere.”

A $1,000 reward will be given to anyone with information leading to the return of the submersible pumps or any parties involved in the disappearance of this property. If not returned the Zoo stands to lose $7,000 worth of stolen property. Anyone with information is asked to call the Zoo at (956) 546-7187.
