City Seek LRGVDC Grant for a Recycling Trailer
- Updated: December 20, 2013
The City of Los Fresnos has applied for a 100% grant with the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council for $28,855 to cover the purchase of two recycling trailers with four compartments. The trailers would be placed at schools, parks or at city hall on a rotating basis to be available at all times to the public.
The current recycling program with Allied Waste is only available on Tuesday mornings for three hours. This services costs the city $1500 per month and with the grant, that money can be redirected to the cost of fuel, labor and additional promotional materials if needed.
If granted, the trailers will become the property of the city as long as they comply with grant requirements.
