Rancho Verde Elementary School teams took first and third place honors at the LFCISD Robotics Competition Dec. 7 at Resaca Middle School

Eight elementary schools participated in the elementary division, forming 31 teams. Most team entries had four students each. There were five middle school teams, and two teams from Los Fresnos High School.
The top three finishers in each division included:
Elementary Division (31 teams)
First Place
Rancho Verde Elementary – Venom, 220 points: Oziel Briones, Yahir Hernandez, Muhammad Khan, Carmen Lainez. Coaches: Fernando Diaz and Hector Larraga.
Second Place
Laureles Elementary – Fire Robots, 210 points: Fabian Cervantes, Billy Florez, Gaspar Gracia, Enrique Lozano. Coaches: Angela Dunkin and Leo Robles.
Third Place
Rancho Verde Elementary – Rattler United, 208 points: Rachel Dieckmann, Andrea Ramirez, Lance Stelling. Coaches: Fernando Diaz and Hector Larraga.
Middle School Division (7 teams)
First Place
Resaca Middle School – Robogator, 210 points: Albert Guerrero, Isaac Noriega, Hector Salcedo, Pedro Velasquez.
Second Place
Los Cuates Middle School – Robonauts, 200 points: Zoe Arriaga, Juan Carlos Cruz, Ethan Macias, Darren Mora.
Third Place
Liberty Memorial Middle School – Knights, 190 points: Mark Gracia, Sergio Obispo, Luis Rodriguez, Anton Semien.
