LFU CTE STUDENTS GET LOOK AT NEW AUTOMOBILE TECHNOLOGY
- Updated: September 26, 2014
Career and Technology Education (CTE) students at Los Fresnos United Ninth Grade Campus got a first-hand look at the latest in automobile technology, courtesy of Cardenas BMW of Harlingen.
Ray Garcia, Evert Market and Business Development Center manager for Cardenas BMW, brought two new 2015 BMW vehicles for students to see. Both vehicles are equipped with the latest in automobile technology, including active driving assistant, blind spot detection, navigation system, park distance control, and rear view camera.
“We are wanting to show the kids in the CTE program how advanced the BMWs are,” Garcia said. “Being that Los Fresnos CISD is very much in preparing our students for the future, we wanted to be part of that and bring the vehicles to the campus and show the kids hands-on. They can come, touch the technology, and realize that this type of technology is our future.”
All CTE students at LFU got an opportunity to see the vehicles and see how the technology works, especially in the dashboard.
“They can see that the classes they are taking are going to help them in their future,” Garcia said. “They know that this is the type of technology that is going to prepare them for the future.”
