LFHS Band Receives 1 Rating; Advances to Area Round
- Updated: October 31, 2014
The Los Fresnos High School Marching Band received a rating of 1 at the 72nd Annual UIL Pigskin Jubilee Marching Competition Saturday in San Benito.
The band now qualifies for the Area marching contest Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Dub Farris Athletic Complex in the Northside ISD in San Antonio.
A top rating at the area competition would qualify the band to the State Marching Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio Nov. 4.
The LFHS Band’s performance is entitled “Conflicted,” which was written and arranged by Carol Brittin Chambers. It is inspired by Gandalf’s “In the Presence of Angels,” Alexander Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances,” Bliss’ “A Hundred Thousand Angels,” Frank Ticheli’s “Angels in the Architecture,” and Carol Brittin Chambers’ “Conflicted.”
