Help Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer
- Updated: October 31, 2014
Join us Oct 31st for a Free hour and a half long Superhero Zumbathon! This event begins at 8:30am and will take place at the Los Fresnos Memorial Park at 900 N. Arroyo Blvd.
Come wearing your favorite superhero shirt or costume as we support the fight against Breast Cancer. (Costume is not required for participation)
Research has shown that physical activity can improve health by:
- Helping to control weight
- Maintaining healthy bones, muscles and joints
- Reducing the risk of developing high blood pressure and diabetes
- Promoting psychological well-being
- Reducing the risk of death from heart disease
- Reducing the risk of premature death
In addition to these health benefits, researchers are learning that physical activity can also reduce the risk of developing Breast Cancer.
Despite these health benefits recent studies have shown that more than 50 percent of Americans do not engage in enough regular physical activity.
How much physical activity do adults need?
The American Heart Association recommends a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise five days a week.
You don’t have to be a Superhero to stand up and fight the fight against Breast Cancer.
Keep Active!
