County Women Lawyers Donate Sneakers for Students
- Updated: January 2, 2015
Thanks to the generosity of the Women’s Law Section of the Cameron County Bar Association, 156 needy Los Fresnos CISD students will get some help for new shoes.
As part of its Sneakers for Students program, the attorneys collaborated with the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation, the First Family Network of Cameron County and sponsors for shoe vouchers to Payless Shoe Source stores.
The group targeted the nine school districts in Cameron County, and made sure students at each district received funds based on enrollment. The students identified will receive gift card vouchers of one pair of shoes.
Students were selected by the Advanced Academics offices, which works with counselors around the district.
