Summer School Programs Begin Monday, June 8

Summer school programs in the Los Fresnos CISD begin Monday, June 8. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday only in all programs.
Remediation programs will be held June 8-July 2 at Resaca Middle School for Los Fresnos High School and Los Fresnos United Students, at Los Cuates Middle School for middle school students, and at Los Fresnos Elementary for elementary school students. Bilingual programs will also be held June 8-July 2 at the same locations.
The LFHS/LFU programs are for credit retrieval and TAKS preparation, while others are for academic remediation.
Other Summer School programs include:
- The project Smart Math for Migrant students in grades Pre-K to 8 will be held June 8 to July 2 at Los Fresnos Elementary and Los Cuates Middle School.
- The College Entrance Exam Preparation (CEEP) Academy will be held June 8-11 for students in grades 7-8, and June 15-July 2 for students in grades 9-12.
- There are two one-week sessions for Gifted and Talented students at Los Fresnos High School. Those GT students in Grades 5-8 will meet June 15-18, while students in Grades Pre-K to 4 will meet June 22-25.
- SSI for students in grades 5 to 8 will be held June 8-23.
- There is also a Special Education Extended Year Services for students in all grade levels throughout the summer.
Instructional time in all programs is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for elementary students, and 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. for secondary students. There is a 30-minute lunch break for all students. Student breakfast and lunch will be provided, as will student transportation for registered students.
