LCMS, LFU Destination Imagination Teams Win Regionals; Advance to State
- Updated: March 4, 2016
Los Fresnos CISD students are regional champions in Destination Imagination competition held at Mission Feb. 20.
The Los Cuates Middle School won the middle school division and Los Fresnos High School/Los Fresnos United took top honors in the high school division.
Both teams now qualify to compete in the state tournament at Anna, Texas, April 1-3. More than 500 teams are expected to participate.
The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem-solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.
