4th Annual Boots on Ground Veterans Memorial Mud Run This Saturday
- Updated: November 4, 2016
The City of Los Fresnos Boots On Ground Veterans Memorial Endurance 4 mile obstacle Mud Run is scheduled for this Saturday, November 5, 2016. The endurance obstacle mud run will begin at 8 a.m. in the open field next to Bobz World at 36451 State Hwy 100. Mr. Bob Harris of Bobz World has permitted the mud run be held on the property next to Bobz World in past years and has proved to be perfectly suitable for the event.
Last year the event saw 410 adults and 32 kids in the kids run. “We received very positive feedback” said Javier Mendez, Los Fresnos City Councilman “comparisons were made to Spartan and Tough Mudder runs which are nationally recognized events”. Participants can expect to be challenged by the obstacles and the mud course.
Boots on Ground exists to commemorate military veterans that have gone before us as well as those working and living among us who have sacrificed their family time, careers and health so that millions of Americans can enjoy the freedom we do today.
The Boots on Ground organization is focused on achieving the goal of building a Veterans Memorial. Once the memorial is built the mud run organization will re-organize as a 501C non profit entity so that future funds raised from the mud run will go to benefit organizations such as Wounded Warriors and others.
