LFHS Band Earns Superior Rating at Pigskin
- Updated: November 4, 2016
The Los Fresnos High School Marching Band received a Superior rating at the 74th Annual Pigskin Jubilee Saturday at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen.
With the Superior rating at Pigskin, otherwise known as the Region 28 UIL Marching Band Contest, LFHS advances to the Area G Marching Contest at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Saturday. The superior rating marked the eighth consecutive year that LFHS has received a Division I rating.
All eight of the schools competing in the Pigskin Class 6A received Division I ratings.
The top four schools at Area G will qualify for the UIL Class 6A State Marching Contest November 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
LFHS performed its production entitled “Power & Grace.” The show showcases Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” and Stravinsky’s “Firebird.”
