McDonough Named EDA; Board Reorganizes

Jimmy McDonough was approved as Executive Director of Academics at the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees meeting Thursday.
McDonough is the current Director of Special Services.
Also approved were Pablo Bazaldua III, Finance Budget Director; Sandra Ruiz, Director of Advanced Academics; and Charmaine Thomae, Speech Teacher, Los Fresnos High School.
Trustees also recognized outgoing Board President Darlene Pederson for her years of service as President since 2014.
Two trustees who were unopposed in the November 8 election – Martin Castillo (Place 1) and Ruben Treviño Jr. (Place 2) – were sworn into office for new three-year terms.
Board members voted to reorganize officer positions: President: Jesus Amaya; Vice President: Leonel Garza; Secretary: Sandra Garcia; and Assistant Secretary: Martin Castillo.
