Liberty Memorial Middle School students got a taste of what is needed to start a business.
The nine students in the Science Club showed their business proposals to a crowd of about 50 adults at the Los Fresnos Area Chamber of Commerce meeting last Monday, February 13, 2017.
Also present was Angela Burton, regional director of the Small Business Administration. She said the students’ presentation tied in perfectly with National Entrepreneurship Week Feb. 20-24.
David Armendariz, a State Farm agent in Los Fresnos, introduced the students and described his experiences in starting small businesses.
The students showed the audience four business proposals. They included:
“Low Gravity” Trampoline Park, by Diego Warrell
‘Spaced Out” Bowling Alley, by Penelope Sanchez, Mallory Buendia and Kaylee Luna
“S.P.A.” Parenting and Academic Center, by Natalie Espinosa and Joseph Treviño
“C.A.N.” Doggie Daycare, by Catalina Valdez, Naomi Evans, and Alyssa Chavez
All are eighth graders except Treviño, who is a seventh grader.
Teachers Heidi Gomez and Mayra Bernal were sponsors for the projects.
