As children we heard it said by our parents, grandparents, teachers and Drs. the importance of eating plenty of fruits and vegetables each day. Now as an adult you probably stress the importance to your children and family members. What is it that’s so great about fruits and vegetables that everybody’s talking about?

Delicious
With such a wide variety in taste of both fruits and vegetables it’s hard to pick a personal favorite. Good thing we don’t have to choose just one. Fruits and vegetables have a variety of taste, colors and textures which keeps having them daily both delicious and interesting. Finding creative ways of preparing your fruits and vegetables is a great way to keep your family enjoying them daily.

Nutritious
Fruits and Vegetables are loaded with important vitamins and minerals that help us stay healthy. A diet high in fruits and vegetables can protect you against cancers, diabetes and heart disease. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables not only keeps us healthy but also provides great energy which can be used to assist in living not only a nutritious lifestyle but also an active lifestyle.

Easily available
Many enjoy homegrown fruits and vegetables from their back yard, while others enjoy the convenience of store bought fresh, frozen, or canned produce. Having plenty of fruits and vegetables easily available for your family is another great way to consume the recommended 8 or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day by the American Heart Association.
