Ethel L. Whipple Memorial Library Invites Summer Readers to Help “Build a Better World”

The Ethel L. Whipple Memorial Library has announced the 2017 Summer Reading Program entitled “Build a Better World Summer Reading”. The Program will be held in the Santos F. Solis Children’s Room of the Ethel L. Whipple Memorial Library located at 402 W. Ocean Blvd in Los Fresnos.
Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Sessions are from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m, Monday and Tuesday. July 3, 2017 will be Build: Oh Give Me a Home, Crafts: Paper Sculpture, Birdhouse, City by the Sea, Mushroom Mansion. July 10 – 11 Discover: Conserve and Protect, Art: Make Posters: Save the Earth, How Turbines Generate Electricity. July 17 -18, 2017 Transform: Reimagining Everyday Objects, Crafts: Let’s Make Funny Faces, Paper Bag Clothing, Hula Hoop Loom.
Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Sessions are from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday. July 5 -6, 2017 will be Build: Tower Power, Crafts: Build a Straw Tower, Build a Newspaper Tower, Toothpick Challenge. On July 12 -13, 2017 – Discover: Conserve and Protect, Art: Make Posters: Save the Earth, How Turbines Generate Electricity. July 19 – 20, 2017 will feature Transform: Reimagining Everyday Objects, Crafts: Let’s Make Funny Faces, Paper Bag Clothing, Hula Hoop Loom.
Presentations will be on Fridays, July 7th, 14th, and 21st, 1:00 – 2:00 for all Reading Program participants. You won’t want to miss a day.
