by Ronnie Zamora/LFCISD
Las Yescas Elementary has been selected as one of 160 school libraries from 38 states to receive a grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries.
The grant will fulfill school library book and magazine requests with the goal of encouraging students to develop a love of reading and learning.
The Bush Foundation awarded more than $930,000 to libraries. Mrs. Bush, a former First Lady and one of the founders of the Texas Book Festival, is a former librarian. Since 2002, it has awarded more than $14.3 million to 2,700 schools across the country.
