Where one road ends another begins. On July 14, 2017 a path of 22 years of dedicated service to Zarsky Lumber Co. began its transition to something Gene Daniels has also had a love for many years and that is his service with the Los Fresnos Fire Department and EMS.
From 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 14 many friends, family, co-workers and customers gathered to show Gene grateful appreciation for so many years of devoted service as part of the Zarsky family.
Zarsky Lumber Co. President, Phillip Steffy, presented Gene with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his outstanding leadership. Mayor Polo Narvaez also shared some congratulatory words for Gene. A Mariachi band serenaded Gene with a fun rendition of “El Rey”. Everyone enjoyed good food, cake, music and fellowship with Gene and newcomer Martin Magallan. Martin comes to the Zarsky family with a background in the reinforced steel industry.
“I am very excited to continue the tradition of great service that Gene has established here at Zarsky” said Magallan. Gene plans to pursue full time service with the Los Fresnos Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service. Congratulations and best wishes Gene!
