Teachers Attend Staff Development Sessions

Hundreds of teachers have attended dozens of staff development sessions in preparation for the 2017-18 school year.
Campus-level staff development was held all day Monday and on Tuesday afternoon, while district-level staff development was held Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is a teacher workday so that teachers can prepare their classrooms and assignments for the start of the school year Monday, Aug. 14.
About 500 elementary school teachers gathered at the Los Fresnos United Cafeteria Wednesday, while secondary teachers were scattered at locations. throughout the district.
Teachers, librarians, counselors and nurses were scattered at multiple locations throughout the district Thursday for staff development targeted to their field of practice.
Many of the sessions were related to implementation of new curriculum strategies in specific grade levels for the elementary teachers and subject areas for secondary teachers.
