October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The City of Los Fresnos’ Community Health Outreach Program will be hosting a free Superhero Fitness Blender on October 27th from 8:30am to 9:30am. The Superhero Fitness Blender will take place at the Los Fresnos Memorial Park located at 900 North Arroyo, Los Fresnos, TX 78566. Immediately following the event guest speakers from Valley Baptist Women’s Health will offer educational information on breast cancer awareness. They will also perform mammograms at a special rate.

What is the Community Health Outreach Program?
The City of Los Fresnos offers a free Community Health Outreach Program within its community. The program offers a variety of free classes/activities, nutrition support, blood pressure screenings, BMI screenings and follow-up care to both men and women 18 and older.

Exercise classes are currently held at the Los Fresnos Memorial Park located at 900 N. Arroyo, Los Fresnos, TX 78566. The October exercise class schedule offers a variety of free exercise classes, classes include Cardio Kickboxing, Zumba, Water Aerobics, Water Polo, Body Sculpting and Fitness Blender. All classes are taught by certified instructors.

Lap Swimming is also available through the program for participants who know how to swim. Children are not allowed in the pool area during classes.

Basketball Open Gym is offered to the City of Los Fresnos Community Health Outreach Program. Basketball Open Gym takes place at the Los Cuates Middle School located at 32477 State Hwy 100, Los Fresnos TX. 78566.

What is a Fitness Blender?
Fitness Blender is a class offered weekly through the Community Health Outreach Program. Fitness Blenders are offered every Wednesday and Friday morning at 8:30am at the Los Fresnos Memorial Park. Fitness Blender is a one hour choreographed cardio class that includes a variety of music, dance and fitness fun.

Why a Superhero theme?
Many of us know someone who has been impacted by Breast Cancer. Helping spread the word on breast cancer awareness helps save lives. Join us in the fight over breast cancer by helping spread awareness this October. Feel free to come dressed in your favorite superhero outfit and invite a friend to join you!
