With the final game of the World Series looming just minutes away the Los Fresnos CISD coaching staff graciously attended the Chamber of Commerce “Get Together” which took place on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Los Fresnos CISD High School Lecture Hall.
The special guest speaker was Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Patrick Brown who shared how and why student-athletes play an invaluable role in the success of our schools. Coach Brown’s message followed closely the theme of the LFCISD logo which states “What We Do Here Shapes The World”.
He and other coaches explained how sports combined with extra-curricular activities such as band, cheerleading, and school clubs produce graduates that are successful academically becoming successful college graduates and members of society.
“When you run into our kids you can tell they’re our kids because they say ‘yes m’am’ and ‘yes sir’… that is what we’re about, building relationships,” said Coach Brown.
Chamber President Ray Ortiz commented on a letter that was sent to LFCISD about the respectful demeanor and class shown by LFCISD students and student athletes last year after a tough playoff loss.
Brown concluded, “I want to support everyone in this town, to help our local economy so please continue to support us and we’re here to support you.”
Prior to leaving all enjoyed coffee and cookies provided by the Chamber of Commerce.
