Gas Leak Causes Traffic Diversion on Hwy 100
- Updated: January 19, 2018
A two inch gas line buried below Hwy 100 (Ocean Boulevard) near the Arroyo Boulevard (FM1847) intersection was struck by a milling machine during road maintenance work around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. The two inch line crosses under Ocean Blvd. from North to South.
The Police department blocked off traffic around the area of the gas leak for one city block and up to two city blocks downwind from the leak. Fire department was also on scene for safety as the gas company had to dig up line on both sides of Hwy 100 and cap the leak so that the milling machine could be moved and the gas line repaired.
The leak was contained and the repairs were completed allowing traffic to resume just before noon.
