Los Fresnos FFA brought outside expertise in all animal divisions at its 3rd Annual Showmanship Clinic January 7.
Under the direction of the FFA Officer Team, experts from the following areas made presentations:
Goats and lambs: David Davis from Lyford
Cattle: Rick Gonzales from Lyford
Pigs: J.R. Solis from Los Fresnos
Rabbits: Karen Waters, junior at Los Fresnos High School
Each guest spoke to the students and parents on nutrition, health, maintenance, showing and grooming of their animal projects.
The highlight of the afternoon was the competition in each animal species in the junior, Intermediate, senior and old timers divisions.
Several livestock shows are scheduled during the coming months, highlighted by the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo in Mercedes March 8-18.
